Glan officially became a municipality on July 25, 1949 when President Quirino issued Executive
Order No: 250 Creating the town.

Glan is located on the west by Sarangani Bay, on the north by Davao Occidental, and on the south by
the celebes Sea. It is largely based on agriculture with a high level production of copra. Aquaculture is the second biggest income earner, notably milkfish, and shrimps culture, Other agricultural products are coconuts, maize, sugarcane, bananas, pineapple, mangoes, pork, eggs, beef and fish.

Every October, Glan showcases the Lubi-Lubi Festival. There is more to the costumes, choreography and musically in this yearly competition. The colors and faces of Lubi-Lubi Festival every 8th of October reflect Glan industry and tradition altogether. The Lubi-Lubi festival celebrates coconut being the major product of Glan which is also one the oldest town's Mindanao at 97 on October 8, 2011. Lubi-Lubi performers wearing costumes made of coconut materials dance in the streets where
Hispanic houses still stand today. Glan, also known as the "Coco Queen of the South" and the oldest
town in Southern and Central Mindanao, is Sarangani top producer of coconut.

Beaches around Glan is one of the attraction in this municipality. The white sand and fine crystal land
makes your feet comfortable to walk around the beach. Further south are Sarangani Island( Balut Island), presently developed a with good dive spot.
Before leaving Glan, Sarangani I urge you to visit this place called Municipality of Sarangani(Balut Island) This is not part of my itinerary but one of my discovered that satisfied greatest travel story,

sail boat to reach this island.
How to get there:
1. If you're coming from Manila or Outside Mindanao. Ther nearest entry points is General Santos City, Philppines
2. Take a can tell your driver to drop you off at KCC Mall
3. There's a van terminal at KCC Mall bound to Glan, Sarangani. Fare is Php 100/head. Around 1-2 hours travel time.
4. Tell you're driver that you're going to Gumasa Beach and he must drop you off at E. Alegado Transport Terminal. From there, you have to ride a tricycle or habal-habal bound to the resort of your
choice. Fare is around Php 100-200 depending on the resorts location.
